The Boss UP program was founded by Ron Moelis, Chairman and Co-Founder of L+M Development, after he read a 2022 report by the Center for an Urban Future (CUF), an NYC-based think tank.

In its first year, Boss UP partnered with the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) to award entrepreneurs with funding and free business programs to help them grow and thrive in New York City.

Boss UP will be expanding in 2023 to support other communities in need.
